BreadNet Server Upgrade Complete

The upgrade to the BreadNet server was successful and we are up and running again.

To maximize the usefulness of the upgrade, it is worth upgrading the FirstClass client to a more recent version. You can tell if you are running an older version of the BreadNet client software if your desktop looks like this:

With the new client, your desktop will look like:

You can upgrade the client by clicking here.

Select the operating system that you are running on your computer. Then download the appropriate client and run the program you've saved to your computer. This will guide you through the installation process. If you already have the BreadNet client on your computer, the new installation should find the relevant settings file so that all you will have to do after the installation is log in.

The setup information, should you need it, is:

Server: breadnet.middlebury.edu

Username: your username

Password: your password

When the upgrade is complete, BreadNet will support mail synchronization with smart phones, such as, the Blackberry and iPhone, as well as with the new iPad. This has been a frequently made request by the BreadNet community.

To connect your iPod or iPad to BreadNet, you should do the following:

1. Connect to the iTunes Store and in the 'Apps' section, do a search for 'FirstClass Mobile'.

2. You should see the following:

3. Install the appropriate version of FirstClasss Mobile on your mobile device.

4. Once installed, launch the program and fill in the following information:

Server: breadnet.middlebury.edu

Username: your username

Password: your password

You can click on the 'Save Password' option so that you don't have to enter it each time you connect to BreadNet.

5. Save the settings and you are ready to go.
